Colin James and his six piece band rolled into the Empire Theatre in Belleville delivering a powerful ninety minute performance to a packed house of rockin’ blues fans. What Super Bowl? When one of Canada’s leading blues guitarists comes to town, you go!

 Colin and his six piece band are on tour nationwide promoting his latest Stoney Plain release, “Chasing the Sun”.  The album produced by Colin Linden and Colin James also features songs co-written by Tom Wilson (Blackie and The Rodeo Kings) and The MacDonald Brothers (The Trews).  James said during the show that “Chasing The Sun” came to fruition with inspirations from adventures on the road, personal experiences, and connections to his bike riding passion in North Vancouver where on his evening rides he seems to be chasing the sun.

 Colin James has been a music fixture on the international music scene for over thirty five years, recording twenty one studio albums, recipient of eight Juno Awards, 31 Maple Blues awards, and generating multi-platinum sales for his efforts.  Colin is back on the road after being sidetracked in September 2024 with a car accident in Albany, New York that sidetracked tour plans until December. Late January of 2025, Colin was a show highlight on the Legendary Blues Rock cruise where he hooked up with Taj Mahal and Kenny Wayne Sheppard.

With Belleville native, Chris Caddell (rhythm guitar), and Toronto’s Steve Marriner (Harmonica/Bass guitar from Monkeyjunk) alongside on stage, the cross Canada tour for “Chasing The Sun” started on February 7 in Ottawa that will see him travel him nationwide, with a few stops in California, and returning to Quebec in April.

Joining James on this tour is Terra Lightfoot, folksy blues rocker from Waterdown, Ontario out performing her latest work, “Healing Power”. Lightfoot looked right at home on the Empire stage with a bright and powerful performance.
