New video for DIAMONDTOWN’s “Dream All Day” out now everywhere!
Dream All Day will have you vibing around just like the lyrics, in a faint, hazy dream state.
DIAMONDTOWN plays out of Nova Scotia and it consists of members KC Spidle, Evan Cardwell, Chris Thompson, Kate O’Neill and Meg Yoshida. The Quintet together all form the self labelled “dream rock” band DIAMONDTOWN. The group recently released their 10 track, self-titled debut album filled to the brim with lots of their signature dream rock sound. Recorded just as the pandemic was beginning and finished through isolation, the group overcame any difficulties they faced to produce their first ever album.
The quintet recently made a video to go along with one of the tracks off the album titled Dream All Day. The track tells the story of someone who lives their life in a mindless state and because of that is unable to face life’s issues and make those important personal connections that we all need. Whether the dreaming came before or after the issues began, who is to say but the journey does make you think about how we naturally put our heads down and blindly go forward in life.
Spidle stated that he found some of the themes and topics explored on the album eerily prophetic and I think Dream All Day is no exception to that. The aimless day dreaming and clouded mind that he sings about is one that all too many of us have suffered due to our repetitive day to days and I think that it is something that we all can relate to at one time or another in our lives.
Behind the hazy vocals, the dreamy keys, the scratching guitar, the steady crashing drums and the deep pocketed bass DIAMONDTOWN has “dream rock” on lock. The song really does feel like a dream and the video’s subdued color palette and performance only adds to that feeling.
DIAMONDTOWN is available to stream now everywhere! To keep up with the band make sure to keep a close eye on their social media!
