Justin Fancy Releases New Music Video For “Makes Me Wanna”
Country recording artist Justin Fancy, from Conception Bay South, Newfoundland, has just released a music video for his second radio single, “Makes Me Wanna”, from his debut album “Sure Beats A Good Time”. If you joined us for The 3rd Annual Canadian Independent Music Video Awards you likely recognize the stars of this country video’s love story. Fancy won “Best Country Music Video” for “Sure Beats A Good Time”, the title track off the same album. Despite having to shelf his original plans for the video for “Makes Me Wanna” due to a major Covid-19 outbreak and subsequent lockdown in Newfoundland at the time the video was scheduled to be shot, Fancy is very happy with the results. Long-time friend Samantha Picco, from Big Brother Canada Season 7, has had a recurring role as Justin’s love interest since the release of “Think About You” in early 2020. “We were able to use existing footage of Samantha from the last two videos as flashback sequences in the new video,” said Fancy. “We were able to safely shoot the performance parts at The Sound Solution in St. John’s and it worked out perfectly”. It’s inspiring to see Canadian artists like Fancy push through the hard times, and find solutions that may have been considered outside the box during pre-covid times. At this point, it’s clear Fancy won’t let the pandemic bring his music career to a halt.
It’s been a big year for Justin, who is riding high after recently winning MusicNL’s Country Artist of the Year and Rising Star of the Year. This is the first time in the history of MusicNL that the same artist has won both awards in the same year! As mentioned earlier he also won Country Music Video of the Year at The CIMVA’s and has been nominated for an East Coast Music Award for Inspirational Album of the Year.
