Lydia Aisnworth is a Toronto born art-pop experimentalist and singer and Diamonds Cutting Diamonds is the third and final single, as well as the opener for her album Phantom Forest. It’s a beautifully produced and layered masterpiece on the over-comings of self-doubt. Aisnworth said that Lyrically, she was singing about the entrance to Phantom Forest and how one must draw from the innate feminine wild within to unlock obstacles along the path and that it’s her hope that the listener will imagine the narration to be directed to them as well, as they begin the journey of the album. The video for this track was directed by Lydia’s younger sister Abby and takes you into a world of it’s own, featuring a life sized chess board, a mime, a bull & matador and lots of magical cinematic beauty.
