Led by Alan Snoddy, Tommy Youngsteen features a revolving lineup consisting of some of Canada’s most talented musicians from bands such as Stars, The Arkells, Sloan, The Sam Roberts Band, The Trews and more, all getting together to play some of the finest hits from Bruce Springsteen, Neil Young, and Tom Petty. Neil Young fans got a treat as Tommy Youngsteen performed The Very Best of Neil Young at The Horseshoe Tavern, covering a range of the Canadian icons best tunes to a packed house. I’m a big Neil Young fan and I could tell I was among good company as I looked around the room, it seemed everyone in the room knew every word, and Tommy Youngsteen gave them an incredible set to sing along to. The band featured acoustic, electric and slide guitars, drums and 3 vocalists and took the crowd on an emotional journey, as they flawlessly delivered hit after hit, keeping everyone engaged from start to finish. It was really cool to see peoples eyes light up and the sudden gasp and cheers as the turn for their favourite Young song came up, one great thing about Neil’s music is that it has affected so many people in so many different ways and stages of life, we’ve all got our own favourites that mean something uniquely important to us. Tommy Youngsteen put on a really incredible show that I think any Neil Young fan would have a blast at, and I can’t wait to spend another night filled with Neil Young the next time they bring the show to Toronto!
