‘Let it Scare You’ by The Zola’s
Life is scary and you never really know what’s around the corner. We try our best to anticipate it but at the end of the day, life almost always throws us a curveball. I think that’s part of the nature of life. That’s probably ok, because all you can really do is try your best to be brave and move forward. The Vancouver based indie-rock band The Zola’s is back again with their new single ‘Let it Scare You’. The Zola’s is a multi-award winning independent alternative rock band with a sound that’s evolved greatly from their early brit-pop inspired days of writing music. While the britt-pop roots are still there, this new song is a softer version of the band’s sound. The evolution of the band is awesome to explore from their 2009 work forward. This is the new one from the Zola’s – maybe it’s about life, maybe not – this is ‘Let it Scare You’.

‘Wrecking Heart’ by Sook-Yin Lee and Adam Litovitz
Sook-Yin Lee and Adam Litovitz were partners in music and in life. In 2019 Litovits lost his battle with depression as well as finding the right kind of medication and ultimately took his own life. The album Jooj Two was started by both artists and ultimately ended as a tribute to Litovitz, his artistic genius, from his partner. Renowned Canadian filmmaker and Broadcaster Sook-Yin Lee isn’t the first prison you think of when you think of a musician but it’s actually her first love. We had a great opportunity to chat about that, as well as the album Juuj Two before it’s release on episode 38 of the show. It was an incredible interview and I highly recommend checking it out. This is the new single from Juuj Two, by Sook-Yin Lee and Adam Litovitz, this is ‘Wrecking Heart’.

‘50/50’ by Kayla Diamond
There’s a place we all feel comfortable. Sometimes we displace that comfort – sometimes permanently – for the sake of others. Kayla Diamond feels most comfortable when she’s creating music in one way or another. The artist attests to taking a long time to find her personal sound – her voice – if you will. Her 2019 album ‘Dirty Laundry’ was a self-attested therapy album for the artist, for her to break out into her own sound. Her new single is out now – it’s called ‘50/50’ – and it’s about recognizing when you’re in a bad situation and finding the strength to find your way out of it. This is my interview with Kayla Diamond and her new single ‘50/50’.
