Country fans packed into Hard Rock Live at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Ottawa for Old Dominion’s How Good Is That World Tour- and the sold-out crowd got exactly what they came for: a polished, high-energy night of modern country anthems with just enough grit to keep
things grounded.

From the moment the band hit the stage, the atmosphere felt more like a massive singalong than a traditional concert. Opening with fan-favorite Staples like “Coming Home” and “No Hard Feelings,” Old Dominion wasted no time locking into their signature blend of breezy hooks and tight musicianship. Their chemistry-honed over years of relentless touring-was undeniable, with
frontman Matthew Ramsey delivering vocals that were both effortless and
emotionally dialed-in.

The setlist leaned heavily on hits, a smart move for a crowd that knew every word. Tracks like “Break Up With Him,” “Make It Sweet,” and “Hotel Key” landed with huge reactions, while newer material such as “How Good Is That”. fit seamlessly alongside the classics. The band’s songwriting strength-clever, relatable, and radio-ready-translated perfectly in a live setting, turning the venue into a chorus of voices from front to back.

What stood out most was the balance between arena-level production and a surprisingly intimate vibe. Despite the scale of the tour, the Ottawa stop felt personal. Ramsey’s between-song banter and the band’s relaxed stage presence gave the night a loose, almost backyard-party feel-just with better lighting and a lot more amplifiers.

Musically, Old Dominion kept things tight and dynamic. The band moved fluidly between upbeat country-pop and more reflective moments, giving the set a natural ebb and flow. Songs like “One Man Band” and “Memory Lane” provided emotional depth, while high-energy tracks kept the crowd on its feet throughout.

The supporting lineup, including Phil Vassar, who is a mentor to frontman Mathew Ramsey and Juno award winner for break through artist Sacha, helped set the tone early, making the night feel like a full-country showcase rather than just a headliner event.

Final Verdict:
Old Dominion’s 2026 Ottawa stop wasn’t just a concert-it was a celebration of modern country music at its most accessible and fun. Tight performances, hit-heavy setlist, and an electric crowd made this one of the standout country shows to hit the city this year.
