Indie Week’s First Virtual Conference A Success!
The annual Indie Week Canada conference has come to a close and and in a year full of cancellations and disappointment, Indie Week held out a beacon of hope for artists and music companies not only across the country, but around the world. Last week Indie Week held it’s first ever virtual conference and I’d say it was a great success! Through online panels, B2B sessions, virtual interviews and chatrooms, Indie Week brought together more than 1,000 participants from all over the world to learn about, make connections in and discuss the ever evolving music industry we face today. Over the course of a week, Indie Week created an international community, where participants could meet independent artists as well as speakers representing companies like SOCAN, Downtown Music, CD Baby, Bandcamp and CMRRA and many more. In a time where the world seems so closed off, it was extremely refreshing to meet so many new people, and hear about their plans for reshaping the music industry as we know it.
“I’m very pleased with the results especially during this time and this being our first online conference of this size. My expectations were surpassed and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive with many mentions of this being the best conference attended online this year.”
– Darryl Hurs, founder of Indie Week Canada
