Vancouver’s Jody Glenham Releases Post-Rock Gem The Local

Vancouver’s Jody Glenham has released her new single “The Local” – a post-rock gem in the vein of Patti Smith.

For nearly two decades, Jody Glenham has been a prominent figure in western Canada’s music scene. Her 2020 album, MoodRock, received support from numerous CBC programs, with her song “Talking Out Loud” in rotation on Rich Terfry’s ‘The Drive,’. Mood Rock also charted in the Top 50 on Canadian college radio, was well received by KEXP Radio in Seattle, and considered for the Polaris long list. Her compositions beautifully capture the essence of hope, and with a delicate yet authoritative presence, they grant listeners the profound permission to feel. Because of this, many of her songs have served as the emotive backdrop to several Netflix teen dramas like Tiny Pretty Things and My Life with The Walter Boys, network mainstays like Snowpiercer, and drawing praise from outlets such as NME, American Songwriter, and Refinery29.

Now, Jody is self-producing her latest solo EP, Still Here, with the lead single The Local offering a powerful statement on persistence. Blending melancholy, resignation, and subtle hope, the track reflects on personal struggles, the fading of dreams, and the acceptance of life’s imperfections. Beneath it all is a quiet resilience—finding solace in community, connection, and the small comforts that carry us through hardship. While it resonates with the feeling of missed opportunities and aging, The Local is ultimately about endurance. Jody Glenham is Still Here—weathering storms, carrying the weight of time, and finding meaning in simply staying present. The Local is a testament to her quiet strength and lasting presence in the music scene.
