Grammy Winner Alex Cuba to Headline 5th Annual Troubadour Festival: Downtown Barrie’s Vibrant Music Celebration Now Free to the Public

The highly anticipated 5th Annual Troubadour Festival is set to ignite the heart of downtown Barrie on Saturday, June 24th, transforming Dunlop Street into an artistic hub with an entire day of live music across multiple stages and new attractions like the exclusive Songwriter’s Workshop and the lively Muskoka Brewery Beer Garden.

Dunlop Street will transform into an artistic hive, providing a unique pedestrian experience as it closes to traffic for the entire day. The recent Grammy winner for Best Latin Pop Album, Alex Cuba, headlines the Meridian Place stage in what promises to be an unforgettable performance. The main stage programming starts at 5pm and will showcase a series of compelling performances by Logan Staats, Delyn Grey, and Sammy and Band.

Lemmon Stage at Homestead Cafe will come alive from 9:00 am, with acoustic performances by a different artist every hour until 4:00 pm, including the likes of HarpAcash, Julianna Jones, Michael Costantini, and more. At 4:00 pm, the Songwriter’s Workshop, presented by the City of Barrie, will take place, showcasing the talents of veteran singer/songwriters Danny Michel & Lindy Vopnfjörd hosted by Chas Hay.

A wide array of local artists such as Rebekah Hawker and B. Knox will be delighting attendees throughout the day in the Muskoka Brewery Beer Garden, located at the top of Meridian Place.

“We are thrilled to be presenting the Troubadour Festival once again,”

says organizer Ryan Andersen.

The Troubadour Festival has always had a commitment to showcasing a diverse mix of music genres and fostering local, regional, and nationally recognized talents. Previous years have seen performances by Joel Plaskett, Hollerado, Cowboy Junkies, Matt Anderson, Dwayne Gretzky, Natalie MacMaster, and Whitehorse.

“For the first time, all our events will be free to the public. We have a spectacular line-up of talented artists, including the incredible Alex Cuba headlining on Saturday night. Don’t miss out on June 24th; downtown Barrie is the place to be for a remarkable day of live music.”
