Bubbles and the Shitrockers have dropped their electrifying new album, “Longhauler – The Best of Bubbles and the Shitrockers,” the 13-track release serves as the ultimate sonic companion to the feature film, Standing on the Shoulders of Kitties: The Bubbles and the Shitrockers Story, hitting theatres across North America on December 6.
Following the success of their debut single, I Only Got Eyes For You, the band’s second release, Who’s Getting His Belly Now?, is a heartfelt nod to fans who’ve lost beloved pets. The song delivers a fresh dose of touching brilliance, merging tender guitar sounds with Bubbles’ signature, flair and love of kitties.
Bubbles shares, “My second single, ‘Who’s Getting His Belly Now?’ is a song about one of the greatest kitties who ever lived, Vince The Pince. But on a larger scale, it’s about every pet that’s ever touched our hearts and brought happiness to our families, as we wonder and hope that wherever they are now, some caring soul is giving them belly rubs. So as a tribute to that, I asked fans all over the world to send in pictures of their dearly departed which I featured in the video! And believe me when I say, it’s a real tearjerker!!
Following the success of the album’s first single, “I Only Got Eyes For You”, Longhauler intensifies the band’s signature gritty sound—a potent blend of rock, country, and Bubbles‘ trademark wit. The album fearlessly spans themes of rebellion, feline love, and Trailer Park anarchy, providing a bold backdrop for the film. Each track captures the larger-than-life ethos fans expect from Bubbles and the Shitrockers, especially as they journey through Standing on the Shoulders of Kitties, an unmissable ride of music, storytelling, and Trailer Park-inspired antics.
Bubbles, the beloved Trailer Park Boys character, shares, “I made the cover for Longhauler years ago just dreaming that some day I would have an actual record to put inside there. And now it’s finally happening! I can’t even tell you how excited I am! It’s got a lot of songs about cats, a lot of songs about drinking, and a whole lotta shitrockin’”.
Earlier this month, Blue Fox Entertainment and Blue Fox Entertainment Canada announced their acquisition of the North American theatrical and digital rights to Standing on the Shoulders of Kitties, a hilarious rockumentary featuring Bubbles and the Trailer Park Boys. The film stars Mike Smith as Bubbles, with co-stars Robb Wells (Ricky), John Paul Tremblay (Julian), and Patrick Roach (Randy) from the iconic series, along with Billy Bob Thornton and guest appearances by Ronnie Wood of the Rolling Stones, Martin Freeman, and Robert Sheehan.
