Toxic Earthlings Release Debut Single “Mother Earth”
Toxic Earthlings have just released their debut single Mother Earth, and you can be one of the first to hear this exciting new band by checking out their animated lyric video above! The new solo project of Ryan Schurman, the drummer and producer of Toronto rock n roll band Bad Holiday, Toxic Earthlings has a strong message to share.
“Toxic Earthlings was created with the intention to spark self awareness of our negative impacts on the planet and our society” says Schurman
“Existing in these fragile times we keep repeating our mistakes from the past. It feels as if we’re reaching the boiling point. With climate change progressing at an alarming rate and wars still being waged, fuelled by our corrupt systems and greed. It seems we still prioritize the dollar over ourselves and the environment.”
Mother Earth needs more ambassadors, and I love to see artists like Shurman use their platform to bring these conversations into the world. In my personal opinion it seemed like the conversations around taking care of our earth were starting to grow before the pandemic hit, but over the last few years it feels like everything we spoke about began to get pushed under the rug, and I’m glad projects like Toxic Earthlings are here to rip that rug right off the floor.
Mother Earth, which was produced, written and performed Schurman harnesses the nostalgic 90’s grunge and rock era and will not only get your head moving, but serves a reminder to not forget our deep connection with the one and only home we have. I can’t wait for more rock n roll soaked protest songs and to see what this exciting new project has in store for the rest of 2022!
