For more than ten years, “The Jann Arden Christmas Tour” has gone nationwide. Jann’s most recent stop at The Empire Theatre in Belleville, Ontario were sold out nights of Christmas music, Arden hits, and some very welcome comic relief.
The powerful dynamic range of Jann’s voice from the opening line of hello to “Belleville and the surrounding area”, through teasing about learning new choreography from Paula Abdul and a stage immersed with displays of white Christmas lights, terrific ray lighting effects set the theme for a truly entertaining double header at the downtown theatre.
The eight time Juno Award winning Jann Arden delivered holiday classics that everyone recognized from “I’ll Be Home For Christmas”, “Little Drummer Boy” and the theatre came alive when over six hundred voices joined in with Arden for “Silent Night”, comparing the crowd to the Mormon Tabernacle choir.
There was recollections of how the now thirty two year old hit, “Insensitive” got cross promoted in American radio interviews as “Insatiable” and a family Christmas flashback about stocking stuffers and the time she received an Avon chap stick from her sales representative/mother that doubled as advent calendar. There was also a memory about the book of Lifesavers, its product changes, and how the original packaging has become a rarity at Christmas time.
The Jann Arden Christmas tour is in Ontario until December 23 where the seventeen day tour comes to an end in North Bay, Ontario. Check out the tour graphic for a show near you or visit https://www.jannarden.com for more details.
