Interview with Dylan Hennessy + New Single “All You Can Do Is Dance”
Dylan Hennessy on All We Can Do Is Dance, Community, and Finding Connection in the Chaos
Dropout Entertainment had the opportunity to interview Dylan Hennessy and talk about the release of his new single, All We Can Do Is Dance, a genre-blending, joy-forward track that feels like a response to the moment we’re all living in.
Blending dance-pop, hip-hop, funk, and singer-songwriter energy, the song captures a simple but powerful idea: when the world feels heavy, movement, music, and connection are sometimes the only way through. And in this interview, Dylan opens up about exactly how that idea came to life.
We talk about the quiet grind behind creating music entirely on his own, the challenge of being an artist who refuses to live in one lane, and why release day is never the finish line, it’s the beginning. He also shares one of the most unforgettable stories from his career: getting robbed while busking on the East Coast, only to be lifted back up by strangers who reminded him why community still matters, a moment that would later turn into a song of its own.
Released today, Hennessy also produced and assembled “All We Can Do Is Dance (Connections Remix)”. It features Canadian Hip Hop icon and 2026 Juno Nominee Saukrates on the opening verse, as well as GTA-based Emcees Malik ZN (of Toronto Hip-Hop band Mayraki), K.O. Strat, and Dylan‘s own step-brother, Stanwick. The new remix expands the track’s world even further with new voices and fresh energy — a fitting extension of a song that’s always been about togetherness.
It’s a conversation about persistence, community, and choosing joy in uncertain times.
Because sometimes, when everything feels like too much… all we can do is dance.
