Japandroids New Live Album: LIVE FROM MASSEY FUCKING HALL

Japandroids are a Canadian rock band from Vancouver, British Columbia, consisting of Brian King and David Prowse. Formed in 2006, the band got some traction following the release of their debut album Post-Nothing. I first heard about this band from a New Zealand hippie I met while hiking through British Columbia (you can’t make this stuff up). It wasn’t long before I was hooked.

When you’re a Canadian artist there are few places more iconic to play than Massey Hall in Toronto, Canada. Japandroids got the chance to do just that in 2017 and with the world in live-music lock-down they have released a previously unheard album recorded live from their show at Massey Hall.

The band hopes their new album “Live From Massey Fucking Hall” will help their fans old and new get through time spent in isolation, in particular those who genuinely miss going to live shows. In a recent interview, Prowse said

“I really, really miss live shows. I miss playing them and I miss being in the crowd. When you love music, there are few things more uplifting and cathartic than being in a room full of people at a live show.

Thanks, Japandroids for sharing such a killer show. The full album Live from Massey Fucking Hall is available now on Spotify, Apple Music, and Google Play. Check out the band online at japandroids.com.
