BADBADNOTGOOD & Little Dragon Release New Track “Tried”

Toronto’s favourite instrumental hip hop, post bop group teamed up with Swedish electronica group Little Dragon to bring us this beautiful track. The track was released yesterday and has been receiving a great response so far, with Youtube’s @Wise One asking the important questions like “How did this collaboration not break time and space and create a singularity that swallowed up Earth” and @CatLady 2.0 noting “I’m so sad I’ll never be able to hear this for the first time again”. Fans seem pleasantly surprised to hear the addition of Little Dragon’s vocalist Yukimi Nagano smooth vocal lines on the track.

In a statement about the track BBNG said “We’ve all been big fans of Little Dragon for years, and had a chance to play some shows and hang out with them recently, which eventually led to this collaboration. They’re a truly captivating and unique group of musicians, and we’re really excited to share this song with them and hope to work together again in the future!”

In a recent interview with NPR, Nagano spoke about the meaning behind the song. “The lyrics are about helplessness on a personal level, but also in a bigger way—as people chugging along numb feeling helpless in a world that sometimes feels lost of its compassion,” she said. “Despite that feeling of despair, it’s written with an air of hope.”
