Electric Island Season 7 Returns to Toronto

Electric Island is returning to Toronto for it’s seventh season this long weekend, with its opener taking place on Sunday, May 19th. The festival produces five shows over the course of each summer and brings renowned artists from around the world to Toronto Island. As of right now Toronto is supposed to get up to a whopping twenty three degrees on Sunday, making it an amazing day to kick off the summer festival season with some music on the island! To get to the festival you have two choices, take a water taxi or jump on the ferry, either way it’s a beautiful and scenic trip across Lake Ontario to Hanlan’s Point. 2019’s season opener will feature Dubfire, Brooklyn pair Bedouin, Detroit’s “Women on Wax” founder DJ Minx, Berlin Masterminds ÂME and Toronto fan favourites Jonathan Rosa and Carerra & Tavares on the main stage. Electric Island’s secondary stage, “The Moog Audio Stage” will feature Canadian record label Rawthentic with a special showcase with Toronto’s Carlo Lio and Nathan Barato, “house gangster” DJ Sneak, Berlin-based Caleb Calloway and Chicago house hero DJ Deeon.

Electric Island starts off each afternoon at 2:00 PM and runs into the night, if you want to avoid the giant ferry/water taxi lines you might want to go early rather than later. The festival grounds also feature an array of food and drink trucks, a hippy market and lots of grassy space for festival goers to lay down a blanket and hang out. This weekend’s show is sure to be a blast for electronic music fans who will get the opportunity to listen to some great music against the beautiful backdrop of the island with the fresh feeling of spring in the air.
