ARK IDENTITY Shares Soul-Baring New Single “Can’t Stop Loving You” Ahead of Deluxe Nightmare EP

Toronto indie pop artist ARK IDENTITY — the dream pop project of musician/producer Noah Mroueh — has returned with “Can’t Stop Loving You,” a deeply personal and atmospheric single that lingers long after the last note fades. The track is the latest preview of his upcoming EP Deluxe Nightmare, set for release October 24th.

Written, performed, and produced entirely by Mroueh, “Can’t Stop Loving You” leans into the bittersweet ache of a love that refuses to fade. Drifting between lush, hazy textures and raw lyricism, it captures the still-burning embers of a past connection — the kind that tugs at you when you least expect it.

“This song captures the bittersweet ache of a love that just won’t fade,” says Mroueh. “It’s a raw, honest look at the lingering feelings after a breakup, the kind where you’re trying to move on but your heart keeps pulling you back.”

Drawing from dream pop’s ethereal soundscapes and indie pop’s emotional immediacy, the track’s airy synths, sparse percussion, and aching vocals create an immersive, late-night world. Lyrically, it sits in that unresolved emotional space where memory meets longing — a place where logic says let go, but the heart hasn’t caught up.

The official video brings the song’s atmosphere into focus. Opening with a vintage ’80s TV host introducing Noah and his band, it slides into a swirling, soft-focus visual trip with flashes of psychedelia, pulling the listener deeper into ARK IDENTITY’s world of faded love.

“Writing this track was a way for me to process those lingering emotions — the hope for a conversation that never happened, and the eventual acceptance that some connections, even if they’re not meant to be, leave an indelible mark,” Mroueh shares.

EARMILK has already hailed ARK IDENTITY as “one of the most exciting new artists to enter our attention in 2024,” and with Deluxe Nightmare, Mroueh is expanding his sonic palette. A sequel to his 2024 debut EP ANNDALE, the new six-track collection moves effortlessly between sunny indie rock, vintage psychedelic pop, silky R&B, and brooding electronic alternative. It’s all tied together by his analog production approach and a knack for making timeless melodies feel intimate and fresh.
