No Rain by Bleeker

Bleeker started their career as four young friends from Orillia Ontario – two sets of brothers in fact Taylor and Cole Perkins and, Dan and Dustin Steinke. The four teens at the time – met at a record shop and ended up rocking out playing Hendrix and Joe Walsh covers after school. Originally called Bleeker Ridge the band dropped the Ridge from their name in 2016, after Dan Steinke moved on from the band. Dan was offered a spot in the LA band Six:AM formed by Motley Crew bass guitarist Nikki Six. Dustin parted ways with the Perkins brothers shortly after that. Bleeker picked up Mike Vandyk and Chris Dimas and it was around this time that Bleeker’s sound really grew into itself. Bleeker has been releasing consistently great music ever since. The band’s latest single is a throw-back to a simpler time. This is No Rain by Bleeker.

That was a cover of Bline Melon’s No Rain – circa 1996 – by Canadian band Bleeker. It’s hard to do a good cover, to know how much of a song to change and how to make it your own, so respect to Bleeker on the awesome job.

Pink Motel (LIVE) by The Glorious Sons

If you’re anything like me you’re probably staying to miss being in a big crowd listening to an awesome band. Maybe, just maybe a new live track might be just what the doctor ordered. The Glorious Sons are a Canadian rock band from Kingston, Ontario. Formed in 2011, the band signed with Black Box records in 2013 and I don’t think they’ve looked back too much ever since.

The band just released a live track of their song Pink Motel, recorded at Richardson Stadium in Kingston Ontario. The Glorious Sons have had a number of hit songs including Closer to the Sky, Sawed-Off Shotgun, and Everything’s Alright. This song is very much worth a listen and I’m happy they released this as a live track because it will get a bit more attention in the band’s growing catalog of hits. This is Pink Motel by The Glorious Sons live from Richardson Stadium

Afterglow by Luna Li

At least once a week I’m excited to find a new artist that I haven’t heard before but I immediately get a bit obsessed with. This week I came across some new tunes by the feminist art-rock sounds of Toronto’s Luna Li. Luna Li – a stage name – describes herself as your local moon fairy. This paints a pretty solid mental image of what Luna Li’s music is all about. She’s just here to try and make us happy. Thanks Luna Li – this is Afterglow, Part one of Luna Li’s new EP Asia Rising Forever – from her performance on the Asia Rising Forever Livestream event.

Asia Rising Forever was a Livestream North American virtual music festival held to celebrate Asian music and togetherness. For more information on Luna Li visit her website at http://www.lunali.ca
