Emerging Alternative-Inspirational Singer-Songwriter Grace Marr Releases Her Debut EP, Supernatural

Toronto based multi-genre, Alternative-Inspirational artist Grace Marr independently releases her debut EP, Supernatural. Created in collaboration with GRAMMY Award-winning producer Mohamed ‘Mido’ Elkhalifa (Don Toliver, Ging, f/k/a/, Frank Dukes, Diana Gordon, CVRE) and critically acclaimed guitarist and multi-instrumentalist TJ Whitelaw, the EP boasts Marr’s ability to blend Gospel/Christian Contemporary music with Pop, Folk and R&B. A collection of five songs, Supernatural outlines the journey Marr has been on to get to a place where she feels like she can embrace her humanity and divinity without compromise.

“The EP came from a discussion with my musical collaborators at Kilometre Music Group. I had written some faith-based tunes and felt called to continue leading in the church, but then had these other songs that were raw glimpses into emotions and prayers that could be considered ‘counterculture’ to North American Christianity,” shares Marr. “The conversation slowly turned from which songs do we record or pitch to other artists, and into this beautiful idea of doing both. Being both. An alternative inspirational artist who doesn’t shy away from the divine or the human, but believes that God is making something beautiful for and from our most honest selves.”

Showcasing her effortless powerhouse vocals and lucious harmonies, Supernatural also highlights Marr’s ability to create complex Pop songs about her spirituality and identity, while continuing her mission to expand the traditional views of holiness, as she works towards her debut album, Saving Grace, set be released later this year.

“I had to get comfortable releasing music and telling stories that didn’t shy away from my humanity (and songs that quite frankly, I love!), but that in collection, point towards God in a more fully expressed way” says Marr “Supernatural is the journey to get to a truer – Saving Grace.”
